At the Beach

I had so much fun at the beach last month. It was just my husband, daugther and I. We spent a day at Anvaya Cove. I don't usually swim but since I didn't have a substitute I had to stay in the water, under the sun, with Molly. But I really had fun. I hope we can do it again soon - well after 2 weeks - that is.

House Arrest

Haven't blogged for a long time. I have plenty to write about but neither had time nor inspiration.

I was advised stay to at home, well... specifically in bed (bedrest) because of I have a minor problem that's causing me to bleed. But before that I have to say that I am pregnant.

Yup! Pregnant again after 4 years. I am going to have another child. I am excited and really happy about it.

I expected that my second pregnancy would be as easy as the first. The first one, with Molly, I didn't have morning sickness, no bleeding. The complication was on my being overweight which lead to gestational diabetes.

Different story now. It's probably my age.

Saw a girl in the clinic yesterday. She's also pregnant and she's just 19. She was so scared of the ultrasound. Hope that she'll be okay.

Well, since I am on house arrest, I think I will have time to write. So let me welcome myself back to blogging. : )

Ralph's Poem

MOM is the chocolate sprinkles on the cake,
She's the healer of the sick
She's the lentil of the soup
And she is the lioness protecting her cubs.

Dad is the pilot of the plane.
He is the work in the computer
He's a gamer in the game galaxy
And he is a frying pan cooking pancake.

My brother Foncy, is the roar of a lion
He is the rampaging T rex
He's the heat of the oven
And he's the sun of midday.

My dog coco, is the snow in winter
He's a bone chuckler
He's the Knight from the round table
And he is a brother chaser.

And that leaves me and I'm not telling!!

Grief Stricken

Let me celebrate my grief
Let me feel the loss
Let me bear the pain
Don’t ask me to let go

Lump forms in the throat
Abnormal breathing, almost fainting
My hands ache, my heart tearing
Let me celebrate my grief

Staring into space
Where am I now and where do I go
No answers come, I don’t know
Let me celebrate my grief

Tears please come
Let it pour
Empty my heart til there’s no more
Let me celebrate my grief

Knife in my heart
Broken spirit
Anguished soul
Let me celebrate my grief

There is no cure
It will never fade
I have no more

Just grief.

More French Kitty

Want to go back to the store and get more stuff... hmmm... how do i convince hubby?

Growing

My daughter is growing up. She has friends in school and in our building. She asks me to organize parties for her. She even has ideas on what kind of party we will have.

One day she said, "Mom, can i have a zoo party? Everybody will wear animal costumes." I said, "Of course."

Then she asked, "Mom, can i have a superheroes party?" Everybody will wear super hero costume." I said, "Sure."

Then she said, "Mom, can I have a Jollibee party?" Thinking that this is the easiest party to organize, I said, "Yes, of course, Jollibee lang pala!"

Then she said, "Everybody will come as bees and I will be the only people (person)."

French Kitty

Found French Kitty in the Khao Yai Outlet Village and it's really love at first sight.
French Kitty has a retro glam look; very elegant yet playful. I bought some clothes from the shop. Well, my husband paid for it. I'm glad I lost a little weight, if not, I wouldn't fit in the clothes (they only have up to L - my size).
I want to bring her to Manila. : ) I'm sure she'll be a hit.

Historic Possibilities

I have been on vacation for almost a week now and today I am watching 'the' political debate of obama and clinton. this is the first time that an african-american and a woman are debating and vying for the american presidency. these 2 are the closest to becoming the next president of the united states of america... historic possibilities indeed.

Land of the Loving

Deep in your eyes is a promise
Love can be ours if we want it
Starting tonight ev'ry dream I ever knew
Here in your arms I'm believing
Fin'lly my life has a meaning of its own
Here in the land of loving I am home.

I was alone in the city
Searchin' for someone to find me
Cold empty nights and a million strangers' eyes

Here in your arms I'm beginning
To leave behind all the loneliness I knew
Here in the land of loving there is you.

In this simple room magic is made
Though the world seems unchanged
Leave the lights on I'm a bit afraid
This might be just a sweet dream.

Deep in the night love is growing
Though I had no way of knowing
That when I found you I found ev'rything I need
Here in your love I'll be staying
Fin'lly my life won't be living all alone
Here in the land of the loving I am home.

Note to Self

"I thank God profoundly and profusely for the full life He has given me, its ups and downs, its sideways motions, the unexpected major swoops. It has been a colorful life, worth living, wonderful to remember, wonderful to live still..." - B. Gonzales

A Good Memory

There are times, only sometimes too often, when I wish I had a different set of relatives. As the old adage goes, “you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family.”

I haven’t been in speaking terms with my relatives on my mother’s side for a long time, maybe for almost 3 years now.

But about 2 weeks ago, somebody called the house and told my husband that a dead woman was found and we were being asked to identify her. All of sudden, I found myself calling my cousins, meeting aunts and uncles that I thought have disowned me.

What surprised me were my mother’s eldest sister and her husband’s reaction when they saw me. I was expecting the worst which is to be driven away. But what happened was like a scene from the parable of the prodigal son. I was at the church gate when she saw me. She stood up and walked towards me, limping because of arthritis. Crying, she hugged me and said, “We haven’t seen each other for a long time.” I wanted to cry but I admit I haven’t let my guard down at that time. I hugged her back; I was really surprised by her reception.

But thinking about it now fills me with a warm feeling inside. Her hug felt really good like warm hot chocolate on a cold day. I think it was one of the best memories that I don’t want to forget.

Right now, I am thinking about that hug again. And I smile as I think about it. I feel a little bit sad because I don’t think that I have totally let go of the past. But as of now, I have resolved that I would occasionally send greetings to my aunt and even greet her on birthday and on Christmas day.

Sure, we can’t choose our relatives but there are just some moments with them that are worth experiencing.
